Hear iT from our brightest star: Vital Star (Quarterly) Hashima Arrifin

Vital.org Shines! speaks to the Quarterly Vital Star recipient, Hashima Arrifin from HRS, who not only lived out our Vital.org core values of passion, profession and service attributes of rapport and customer-centric, she also walked the extra mile in the way she handled the retirement case of a CNB officer, by travelling to SGH when the officer was not well, to brief her on her retirement benefits. She made friends with the officer in the course of her work and learned that she is a cancer patient:

1. What prompted you to make the additional effort to travel all the way to SGH?

Hashima: During the course of my work, I came to know that she is a cancer patient. I was touched when she related to me of her illness she has to go through. To ease her pain, this was the only way I was able to emphasize with her by showing my caring attitude towards her, and to give her my moral support. This was the least I could do to show my caring gesture towards her.

2. Would you have traveled further, if the officer's in a hospital far away eg. NUH from Vital?

Hashima: I’ll evaluate the urgency of the case and if my assistance is required, I will discuss it first with my supervisor before I would offer my service to the officer.

3. Any advice for the young Vitalites on good service?

Hashima: remember our mission: “To deliver quality and value-added shared services solutions that delight our customers and give them peace of mind.”

4. What has your experience been like working in HRS?

Hashima: It is a challenging place to work in, but we have a positive mindset. I am glad to say that majority of my colleagues who came from Prisons Dept (MHA) do possess this attitude and give their best to Vital.org where they are currently serving.
